You can run almost anything legal on a CrownVPS server. This policy lists what is not allowed, because it harms other people, our network or our other customers. It applies to every service, and to anyone you give access to. It works together with our Terms of Service.
Not allowed
- Illegal content or activity under the laws of Pakistan or of the country where the server is. This includes child sexual abuse material, which we report to the authorities.
- Spam and bulk mailing — sending bulk email, messages or comments that people did not ask for, running mass-mailing software, or hosting sites that are advertised by spam.
- Attacks — denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. Scanning ports or looking for security holes on systems you do not own or do not have permission to test. Running botnets or the servers that control them (command-and-control servers).
- Breaking into accounts — trying stolen passwords on many sites (credential stuffing), guessing logins over and over (brute-forcing), and using stolen accounts, cards or data.
- Phishing and fraud — sites or messages that pretend to be other organisations, trick people into giving their login details, or cheat people out of money.
- Malware — hosting or spreading viruses, ransomware or other harmful software.
- Platform abuse — fake engagement of any kind (such as fake likes, follows or views), making accounts in bulk, and automation that breaks the rules of the service it is used on.
- Copyright infringement — sharing material you do not have the rights to.
- Harming the network — anything that makes service worse for other customers, including faking IP addresses (IP spoofing).
- Resource abuse — keeping the processor (vCPU) above 80% for more than 6 hours, or using a network port beyond fair usage on unlimited-bandwidth plans. If you need 100% CPU all the time, ask us for dedicated cores. See section 7 of the Terms.
- Emulators on small plans — running Android emulators on plans with less than 8 GB RAM. Use an Emulator VPS or Emulator RDP plan instead.
- Cryptocurrency mining on VPS plans, unless we have agreed to it in writing. Mining uses up shared hardware.
Allowed, within these rules
Websites, apps, remote desktops, trading terminals, automation and bots that follow the rules of the services they use. Personal and business VPNs. Game servers. Streaming of content you have the rights to. Security testing of systems you own or have permission to test.
What happens if the rules are broken
- We may suspend a service right away, without asking first, to protect our platform, our network and other customers.
- Serious or repeated breaks — spam, bulk mailing, attacks, fraud, malware, illegal content or continuous abuse — can lead to termination of the service.
- Services ended for breaking this policy are not refunded. See our Refund Policy.
How we handle reports
- We review every abuse report we get about a CrownVPS IP address.
- If the report is believable, we send it to you and ask you to fix the problem within a set time.
- If the activity is serious or still happening — attacks, malware, phishing, spam, illegal content — we may suspend the service right away, and then contact you.
- If you break the rules again and again, or on purpose, we will end the service.
Reporting abuse
To report abuse from a CrownVPS IP, contact us. Send the IP address, the date and time with the time zone, and proof such as parts of log files or email headers.
